Jason addressed the question, “What is the social media impact of Facebook?”
He first described the process that occurs when a business creates a Facebook page:
- the existence of the business is checked online
- after verification, Google can include that page and its associated business in search listings
- the search results are keyword-based; keyword stuffing is verboten and can have a significant negative impact on your presence in search listings
- keep keywords in mind as you search; the more specific your keywords, the better your search results
Facebook is trying to become local business powerhouse. It first needs to change the mindset of users who usually go straight to Google to initiate a search.
LinkedIn is a better network to use for those of us who sell business to business, while Facebook is best for business to consumer companies.
